well, i’m not exactly gonna scoff at your approach, but i do find it hardly realizable, at least in entirety. especially the part about first securing job, material well-being and so on. no doubt, it’s important, and perhaps the husband should be emphasized as the main provider, and yes, these days standard of living is way higher than ever, but still it’s tough. it will leave great many folk unable to marry for quite a while, some perhaps even never.
plus, my comment at your other article was particularly about cases like Bob Jones varsity, where they forbid interracial dating, courtship or whatever it shall be called. so while being principled, one also has to be smart and balanced
A youth pastor can teach these principles, but they are difficult to implement if the parents are not on board. I have never personally seen a youth group alone implement accountability effectively. Any thoughts or suggestions?
by the way, some orthodox Jews have an attitude, at least verbally, that’s opposite to the idea of first securing material well-being. it is said that the sustenance to the husband comes in his wife’s merit, that is, you need first to find the one, and then you’ll be blessed with wealth.
also, if we set age limits and also demand people first become economically well, we essentially doom many of them to disobedience and sin, whether dating or ‘dropping seed’
