International Coalition of Apostolic Leaders (Dallas, Texas; November 11 to 15)

Every year during the second week of November the International Coalition of Apostles (ICA) has their annual conference. ICA is most likely the largest global apostolic network of networks in the world with about 400 to 500 apostolic leaders identifying themselves with it. (By “apostolic leader” I mean a person who functions in the ministry gift of apostle according to Ephesians 4:11, who leads a network of churches and/or ministries, oversees a local church or ministry with strong influence, and equips leaders of leaders for the work of the ministry.)

This past year ICA’s international council decided to change the organization’s name to International Coalition of Apostolic Leaders (ICAL). This was done because most of its members don’t use the title apostle and also because many apostolic leaders in the world don’t use the title. We wanted to be more amenable in regards to relating to those in the larger body of Christ who get hung up on the use of the title apostle.

As usual, we had an incredible lineup of seasoned leaders who ministered including Dr. C. Peter Wagner (former presiding leader) and the present presiding international leader Dr. John Kelly. (I don’t want to attempt to name all the speakers because I will probably forget a name and I don’t want to slight anyone!)

John Kelly asked me to teach on “Apostolic Theology” which I consequently changed to “Twelve Essentials for Understanding Apostolic Truth.”

I received much positive feedback from international leaders who were thankful that we now had further light as to the function, attitude, spirituality, calling and practice of the gift of apostle! In my 30 minute session I did feel a great liberty to preach/teach and knew that God was further establishing the apostolic movement through my (and other) sessions.

On Thursday morning November 14, John Kelly announced that he was appointing me to be his successor and that I was to become the convening apostolic leader of the soon to be formed United States Coalition of Apostolic Leaders! During the night session John Kelly called up all of the international and national apostolic leaders to help lay hands upon me and commission me to my new assignment! Of course I am humbled and honored first and foremost to be chosen to be a successor of my spiritual father John Kelly! I have been working closely with him since 1989 and have been given the opportunity to grow tremendously as I have participated and observed his amazing strategic and leadership gifts that have positively impacted the lives of significant leaders all over the world!

Also, there were new alliances made, as I will now have a key leader helping to represent and facilitate much of my ministry in Brazil and parts of Latin America. Also I have been invited to minister to the Coalition of Apostolic Leaders in Nigeria (spring 2014) and in France (spring of 2015).

Living Waters Church (November 17)

On the Sunday following the conference I preached at Living Waters Church in North Arlington, New Jersey, which is led by my close friend Bishop Frank Dupree.

God gave me a word and I preached on the Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:6-9). When I initially mentioned the text I saw a commotion amongst the leaders and wondered why? I found out later that just the week before they started doing a series on the Lord’s Prayer in their weekly Bible studies! This gave the church confirmation that what I was teaching was from the Lord and that God was validating the Bible study they were starting!

God gave me a great teaching anointing and at the end He gave me specific prophetic words for 3 to 4 people.  The words were so specific (I can’t get into it in this report) that they greatly encouraged the church and affirmed God was calling them to go to a deeper place in God related to stepping out in faith to share the gospel in the power of the Spirit!

I thank God for my historic week last week!
