May 4-7

Nigeria

I was very excited to come to Nigeria at the invitation of the Nigerian Coalition of Apostolic Leaders, which is convened by Joseph Adefarasin of Lagos who also serves as the Senior Pastor of Guiding Light Assemblies. This coalition is part of the International Coalition of Apostolic Leaders (ICAL) in which Joseph Adefarasin and myself serve on the international council under the presiding international leader, John P. Kelly.  ICAL is most likely the largest coalition of international apostolic leaders in the world and created more than 45 national coalitions in the past two years!

Nigeria has been in the news a lot lately because of the kidnapping of 200 school children by the Boko Haram terrorist group. They have had some of the most significant moves of God upon their nation the past three decades and this nation and the church is now at a crossroads that will determine their destiny.

The City Of Lagos (May 4 -6)

The city of Lagos has more than 20 million people and is the economic capital of Nigeria; that is the largest African nation with the greatest economic power in Africa and has a population of about 170 million people.

Sunday May 4

Sunday May 4 I ministered in Guiding Light Assembly, a significant church in Lagos with a large percentage of high-level professionals that also has a network of churches.  I preached on “Six Steps to Biblical Dominion” based on the cultural mandate of Genesis 1:28 and God gave me great liberty to release an understanding of the generational call of God upon each Christian and each church. At the end 100 of men responded to the call to prioritize their families and receive the Elijah anointing that turns the hearts of the fathers back to their children so they can think generationally.

At night I had dinner with the coalition leaders and strategized regarding what I should teach the pastors the next several days.

Monday May 5 Morning Leadership Session

Monday from noon to 2pm I taught about 500 or more pastors and marketplace leaders on the basics of the “Kingdom of God” in both the Old and New Testaments. God gave me a strong prophetic anointing to preach without notes and the message catalyzed a huge paradigm shift from an individual gospel of salvation to the gospel of the kingdom. Almost everyone responded to the altar call to be used to promote the kingdom message in Nigeria and to reach his or her communities. One of the leaders was the former attorney general of the state of Lagos and now a significant pastor and he told me that the message helped him understand his own calling and articulate what he has felt for many years!

Monday Night Session to the Guiding Light Assembly

On Monday night I preached again to the Guiding Light Assembly members. I taught the church on the subject of the “Kingdom of God” and using the cultural mandate of Genesis 1:28 as a framework to interpret the whole bible. I challenged them to get out of the box of the religious local church and take the gospel as a minister of Christ in the marketplace. God breathed upon the message and gave me a strong prophetic preaching anointing and enlarged my heart so the Spirit of God was able to build their faith and draw out of them a great desire to use their God-given abilities and talent to release their creativity in their vocation to expand kingdom influence.

Tuesday May 6 Leadership Session

This afternoon I had a strong teaching anointing as I taught in detail on “Kingdom Structures” which gave the approximately 500 key leaders a biblical framework for societal reformation. Many key leaders told me they never heard anything like this and many pastors experienced a significant paradigm shift (I’m sure many who had a typical religious church mindset were probably shook up!) as I connected both testaments together through the Cultural Mandate of Genesis 1:28 and showed how the application of the Moral law of God (Ten Commandments) is the blue print needed to disciple a nation.

I also taught how the whole law is fulfilled in one man, Jesus, and how we unpack kingdom living by imitating Jesus as the way, the truth and the life. This particular teaching has the potential to go throughout the whole nation and challenge the limited gospel of individual salvation Nigeria has been preaching. All those in attendance understood through this teaching how the church is called to empower communities, cities and nations and how when we separate the gospel from the kingdom we will have mega church growth with minor cultural influence. Nigeria, more than ever, needs this message and depends upon the people of God to become the problem solvers God designed them to be since He called believers the salt of the earth and the light of the world! (Matthew 5:13-16)

Tuesday Night Guiding Light Assembly Session

On Tuesday night I preached to this congregation for the third day in a row and this time God enabled me to preach on the “Generational Kingdom.” God gave me great liberty to preach on how the call of God is upon biological families to perpetuate a generational blessing and how spiritual warfare is really between the seed of the serpent and the seed of the woman (Genesis 3:15 and John 8:43, 44) thus, the nature of spiritual warfare is always generational and involve our biological and spiritual children.

There was an incredible move of God at the end of the message that was so strong I could not speak or pray but called upon all the men and women to come to the front and cry out to God for their families and their nation. This move of prayer lasted about 30 minutes and we felt we were on sacred ground as the message of generational blessing took great hold upon the church and the coalition leaders who were present.

The City of Abuja May 7 at 7 pm

This city is the political center of the nation and has been in the news lately because of terrorist attacks committed by Boko Haram in recent weeks.

The Abuja chapter of the Nigerian Coalition of Apostolic Leaders organized this meeting. I taught about 200 key leaders and God gave me a prophetic message on how to go from a “religious church” mindset to a “kingdom mindset.”  I had 25 points but never got past the first point as I showed how to build from the Cultural Mandate of Genesis 1:28 and taught for about 90 minutes. The response to the teaching was amazing as the pastors and marketplace leaders easily grasped the complex concepts presented. We also had about 30 minutes of Q and A that demonstrated by the questions asked that all the leaders assimilated kingdom principles and desperately wanted to know what to do next. This session caused a great stir, challenged the old religious mindsets of the individual gospel of salvation, and the Abuja coalition leaders said that the people want me to come back to continue the training as soon as possible.

In conclusion, the leaders of the Nigerian Coalition want me to make a commitment to come at least once annually and partner with them in bringing a biblical reformation to Nigeria.
