MMI Ministry Report
Australia Ministry Trip
March 18-19, 2014
I was excited to go for the first time to the nation of Australia! Through the years I have had many Australian friends, like my close friend Jeff Beacham (who passed away last year) and so I felt like I already knew a lot about this great nation! This trip was facilitated by my friend and fellow ICAL council member, John Macknamara, who is the leader of the Australian Coalition of Apostolic Leaders. This invitation-only event had about 50 influential apostolic leaders representing about 2,000 churches! One of the highlights for me was finally meeting the great bible teacher Kevin J. Conner, the prolific author who gave the apostolic movement great balance with his wonderful books like “The Church In The New Testament, The Foundations of Christian Doctrine, The Tabernacle of David” and more.
Kevin reached out to me via email several years ago and told me that he has been following my weekly teachings, printing them, giving them out, and teaching them all over Australia! The church he founded in Melbourne is now led by his son Mark Conner and is the second largest church in the nation with over 10,000 in weekly attendance!
John Macknamara also brought me to Parliament where I had a private meeting with two influential conservative national senators for prayer and consultation. (We will surely stay in touch and possibly do some work together in the future!) Also, I met many other significant apostolic leaders too numerous to mention in this brief report. Several were divine kingdom connections that will result in many kingdom ventures together!
Tuesday Night March 18
On Tuesday night I began a series of sessions on “The Structures of the Kingdom”. The teaching was received so well that the whole conference schedule was changed and the other speakers (like apostolic denominational leader Timothy Jack) were humble enough to give up their sessions so they could give me more time! (They wanted to soak up as much as possible because it is difficult for me to come to their nation because it is so far away! The person they hired to do the sound was so taken with the teachings that he refused to get paid and was up all night reading my four books over the next few days! He said the teachings articulated and brought together much of what he felt about the Kingdom of God!
Wednesday March 19
On Wednesday morning I continued teaching on the Kingdom of God for another four sessions with one break for lunch and one whole session for Q and A. I was able to finish the teaching on Kingdom Structures and, with the prodding of Kevin Conner, in my last session I was able to show how both covenants point back to the original “Cultural Mandate” of Genesis 1:27-28 and how this passage is the key to unlock the purpose of the church, of the coming and redemption of Christ, and the cornerstone that ties the whole Bible together!
At the end, myself and Kevin Conner hugged and shed some tears, and hoped that we could see each other again before he goes home to be with the Lord. (He is going on 88 and went against his doctor’s advice by flying from Melbourne into Canberra so we could meet!) What an honor and privilege it was for me to spend time with, in my opinion, the greatest and most important apostolic teacher of the twentieth century!
This coming week I look forward to ministering with another great patriarch in the faith, Latin American evangelist Alberto Mottesi in his school of ministry in Santa Ana, California. A report will come out next week regarding this trip.
