I agree wholeheartedly. Which is why I wrote a book to my African-American communities that address these issues called:http://www.amazon.com/Hands-Up-Dont-Shoot-African-American/dp/1500882852
Bishop Matterra: There is a definite need for collaboration, discussion, and elaboration about the many issues of racism and their affects. I do not believe there is a simple answer as the problems are too systemic and historically chronic. The discussions need to commence with spiritual leaders who are committed to community transformation and societal change through the gospel. I hear that the Assemblies of God and the Church of God in Christ organizations are attempting such. At present, in my opinion, there are far too many misconceptions and prejudices among us. These are hindering us from challenging the issues effectively, and making the progress the gospel has empowered us to effect.
