Most people agree that the nations of the West are headed in the wrong direction regarding morality and culture. While it is very popular in some circles to blame presidents, congresses (or parliaments), as well as local elected officials, the word of God makes it clear where to place the blame.

“The error that lies at the foundation of this decay of individual and public conscience originates, no doubt, in the pulpit….Brethren, our preaching will bear its legitimate fruits. If immorality prevails in the land, the fault is ours in a great degree.

How and Why the Body of Christ Must Unite For Community Transformation

John 17:20-23 says:
“I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me.”

God, Politics & the Kingdom of God

View #1: The church should not be involved in politics but only concentrate on soul-winning; the rest will take care of itself. This has been promulgated in the Evangelical Church the past 125 years, especially in Pentecostal/Charismatic circles since its inception in the early 1900’s.

View #2: The church should demonstrate its spirituality primarily by getting involved through social and political action. With this view, the inner spiritual life and the supernatural are deemphasized. Many mainline liberal denominations represented by the World Council of Churches have taken this position.

QUATRO RAZÕES PELAS QUAIS O AVIVAMENTO NÃO É SUFICIENTE

Eu estive em inúmeras reuniões com líderes de igrejas que estão fervorosos por um avivamento em nossa nação e/ou nossas igrejas e comunidades.

Certa vez, após um líder espiritual nacional falar sobre a necessidade da igreja orar por avivamento, levantei minha mão e perguntei: “Por qual propósito nós realmente precisamos de um avivamento?” Ele ficou estarrecido por essa simples pergunta e não conseguiu me responder.
